New Blog Post

It's hard to post to this thing because no one reads it, but hey I'll talk to the air. I finished Nano in 2013 and 2014... I've finished writing and editing a novel and I'm looking for an agent. Woohoo. I got my first rejection today and it was a personal one. That's a good sign that I'm doing something right with my query.

I've also been working on a trailer for Jolene. When I get permission from the band Lustmord to use one of their songs as background, I'll announce it. Until then it's waiting.

I'm currently working on the second draft of a new novel.

Magic, Voodoo and dark infectious music throw the gods--all of them--into a frenzy. It's only with the conscripted help of Douard, a 200 year old Voodoo houdoun and Raithe, a pagan psychic, that the celestical order has any chance of surviving.

Well, back to writing and I'll try to talk the air more often.

National Novel Writing Novel Month

The Challenge 50,000 words in one month, no editing. I failed the no editing. I just had to redo some things and I had my writer's group to prepare for, BUT I succeeded. It was exhilerating and I highly recommended it for anyone juggling life, work, family, and writing. (If all I had was writing, I don't see the challange of 50k words in one month. Or if I didn't have work, that might do it, now that my kids are older and can feed themselves most of the time.)

Anyway, it's done and now the editing really begins. I'm excited about this novel. The working title is Jolene, but a corner of my mind is busy coming up with attention getting phrases that might work. If any character deserves an amazing, stupendous title, it's Jolene. I love this young lady/monster. She doesn't want to be a monster, but we can't help what we're born as. Plus, it's lonely being a one of a kind failed lab experiment that some government weenies want to terminate!

Keep writing!

August 2011 is the official beginning of the semi-final draft of Jolene. (title in the works) I'm excited. My writer's group, (Grand Rapid's Writer Exchange) has responded enthusiatically to the first two installments. Hopefully, by this time next year, Jolene's story will be in the hands of a publisher.

October 15th 2011 is the day that....

I Updated My Site and Must Post About It!

Why must I post? I feel compelled to tell these stupid little facts. The backgroup on the front page is one I made back in 1995 for my first website. The vamp kitten, I found on the web in that same year and if the artist ever finds me, I'd love to buy a print and post your name everywhere in thanks for such a great picture.

Phew. Got that out. Bye for now.. oh hey join my member's area, please. I'm lonely.

Blogging History

This is my first post, but not my first blog. Seven or so years ago, I did the Blogit.com thing for a year and managed to make it and stay in the top ten. I turned a profit, but it was hard work and not really worth it. I stayed with it longer then I needed, because of the other writers there that I liked.

Seven years ago, Blogging was new and no one really thought it was going to take off, but then it did. Everyone started posting every little detail of their life. The Net became overwhelmed with unimportant data. Even authors who I love, I can't get through all of their blog posts. Which makes me wonder, why am I posting this at all?
